摘要: The forefin of the recently excavated partial skeleton a large ichthyosaur is here described. specimen comes from upper Tithonian (Upper Jurassic) La Caja Formation in south Coahuila State. anatomy as well those currently visible parts skull demonstrates it likely represents an Ophthalmosauridae, any case distinct Ophthalmosaurus, possibly close to Brachypterygius. Although generally poorly diagnostic, Late Jurassic Mexican ichthyosaurian remains are relatively abundant; single was surely identified belonging Ophthalmosaurus. new therefore first evidence presence second genus Gulf.
