摘要: Humans are exceptional in their willingness to and frequency with which they help one another. However, nonhuman primates also exhibit prosocial behavior. Recently, a number of laboratory studies examining prosociality among have yielded conflicting results. These contradictory findings may be due reliance on human interaction, tokens, or interactions the direct context food, highly valued resource for animals. The current study examined behavior capuchin monkeys (Cebus apella) tool task designed address these issues by whether capuchins would transfer necessary partner different payoff conditions. Some capuchins‟ indicated that understood task, passing when food were present. Notably, both tasks was overwhelmingly active rather than passive, is unusual food; indicating present amongst other cooperative breeders.
