摘要: The large Eurasian woodland grouse, capercaillie Tetrao urogallus (Plate B), is a resident species with breeding range covering area within the boreal coniferous zone of palearctic region. This distribution coincides quite well Scots pine Pinus sylvestris (Seiskari, 1962), as eastern limit bilberry Vactinium myrtillus (Klaus et al., 1989), two important food for during winter and summer, respectively. species’ main extends from Scotland in northwest (where have been reintroduced), through Fennoscandia, eastward to northern Siberia basin lower Kureika River (following approximately July isotherm 53°F north 70°F south). In Central Europe there are scattered populations Pyrenees, Jura, Carpathians, Cantabrian Mountains parts Alps (Voous, 1960; Cramp 1983; Johnsgard, Klaus 1989) (Figure 4.1).
