Mobile Station Positioning Using GSM Cellular Phone and Artificial Neural Networks

摘要: In this paper, we describe a novel approach to mobile station positioning using GSM phone. The is based on the use of an inherent feature cellular system (the phone continuously measures radio signal strengths from number nearest base stations (antennas)) and information estimate phone's location. current values are processed by trained artificial neural network executed at computer attached position in real time. configuration obtained genetic algorithm that searches space specific types determines which one provides best location estimation results. Two general methods explored: first for classification second uses function approximation. experimental results reported discussed.
