摘要: Laser shock processing (LSP) is increasingly applied as an effective technology for the improvement of metallic materials mechanical properties in different types components a means enhancement their behavior. As reported literature, main effect resulting from application LSP technique consists on generation relatively deep compression residual stresses field into alloy pieces allowing life treated specimens against wear, crack growth and stress corrosion cracking. Additional results accomplished by authors line practical development at experimental level (aiming its integral assessment interrelated theoretical point view) are presented this paper. Concretely, profiles associated modification successfully reached typical under irradiation conditions along with correlated analysis protective character obtained strategies. In case, specific behavior widely used material high reliability (especially nuclear biomedical applications) AISI 316L analyzed, possible “in-service” thermal relaxation effects being specifically characterized.
