Fabrication and characterization of Ag2CO3/SnS2 composites with enhanced visible-light photocatalytic activity for the degradation of organic pollutants

摘要: Ag2CO3/SnS2 composite photocatalysts with different Ag2CO3 contents were fabricated by a facile and efficient chemical precipitation method. The as-prepared samples characterized scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, photoelectron spectroscopy, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy photoluminescence spectroscopy. photocatalyst displayed enhanced photocatalytic activity for the degradation of methyl orange (MO) under visible light irradiation (λ > 420 nm), optimum rate constant at weight content 2.0% MO was 6.22 1.65 times as high that pure SnS2, respectively. Such an performance predominantly ascribed to synergistic effect between which effectively facilitated interfacial charge transfer improved photogenerated electron–hole pair separation efficiency. Furthermore, superoxide radical anions (˙O2−) holes (h+) considered main reactive species during photodegradation process, photocatalysis mechanism SnS2 proposed based on experimental results.
