摘要: Background Children with asthma and atopic diseases have an increased risk of depression or anxiety. Each these has strong genetic environmental components; therefore, it seems likely that there is a shared liability rather than causative risk. Objective To investigate the existence nature familial aggregation for comorbidity Methods Participants came from Childhood Adolescent Twin Study in Sweden (CATSS), n = 14 197. Current ever asthma, eczema, hay fever food allergy were reported by parents. Internalizing disorders identified using validated questionnaires. Familial co-aggregation analysis compared monozygotic (MZ) twins same-sex dizygotic (DZ) disease 1 twin internalizing disorder other to test liability. Several candidates also tested including parental education, recent maternal psychological stress, childhood family trauma country birth. Results found if had at least current partner was having regardless their own status (adjusted OR 1.22 (95% CI 1.08, 1.37). Similar results each current. MZ associations not higher DZ associations, suggesting nature. Including models made little difference effect estimates. Conclusions clinical relevance Atopic anxiety tend occur together families; when treating disease, physician should consider both individual individual's siblings. We did find evidence support explanation comorbidity, further exploration needed disentangle epigenetic reasons aggregation.
