摘要: We report on the unprecedented ultrasound-driven engineering of typical wormlike micelles to well-aligned, much higher viscoelastic threadlike and lower tubular that have potential practical applications in medicine oilfield industries. The sonication CTAB/salicylate micelle system at 211 kHz aqueous solutions generated two nanostructures with specific but contradicting properties: stably aligned ∼2 nm diameter several μm length a high viscoelasticity low ∼30 few hundred nanometres length. are relatively unstable structures formed by coalescence vesicular intermediates during sonication. Acoustic cavitation-generated physical effects primarily responsible for generation these novel nanostructures. This study also provides first ever experimental evidence support well-known theoretical model was proposed 1990s structural transformation micelles.
