摘要: Abstract Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) was reinforced by chemically treated multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) up to 2.0 wt% and later subjected gamma irradiation 100 kGy dose. The influence of MWCNTs on the hardness wear resistance UHMWPE evaluated before after process. increased 89% homogeneous dispersion 2 wt% irradiation. Wear studies test samples revealed that volume unirradiated reduced 31%, 54% 73% upon dispersing MWCNTs, combination both, respectively. surface morphology topography tracks were examined understand mechanisms its composites. Though mechanism observed in polymer composites under normal irradiated condition is found be same, severity for compared UHMWPE. crosslink density (CLD) higher than It concluded cumulative effect presence effectively
