摘要: Images returned by the spacecraft Clementine have been used to produce a quantitative illumination map of north pole Moon, revealing percentage time that points on surface are illuminated during lunar day. We this identify areas constantly day in summer and which may therefore be permanent sunlight. All located northern rim Peary crater, close pole. Permanently sunlit represent prime locations for outpost sites as they abundant solar energy, relatively benign thermally (when compared with equatorial regions), permanently shadowed regions contain water ice.
