Microcirculation18(2), 128–135. Abstract Objective:  Here we demonstrate that, in human erythrocytes, increases cAMP that are not localized to a specific receptor-mediated signaling pathway release can activate effector proteins resulting inhibition release. Specifically sought establish exchange activated by (EPACs) inhibit via activation protein kinase C (PKC). Methods:  stimulated iloprost (ILO), or isoproterenol (ISO), was determined the absence presence selective phosphodiesterase inhibitors and/or EPAC activator, 8CPT2OMecAMP (8CPT). To determine whether PKC, erythrocytes were incubated with phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) prior either forskolin ILO PKC inhibitor, calphostin (CALC). Results:  Selective PDEs one inhibited response other cAMP-dependent pathway. 8CPT PMA both ILO- ISO-induced rescued CALC. Conclusion:  These results support hypothesis which suggest novel role erythrocytes.
