Laboratory experiments on the generation of internal tidal beams over steep slopes

摘要: We designed a simple laboratory experiment to study internal tides generation. consider steep continental shelf, for which the tide is shown be emitted from critical point, clearly amphidromic. also discuss dependence of width beam on local curvature topography and viscosity. Finally, we derive form resulting tidal by drawing an analogy with oscillating cylinder in static fluid.
