摘要: Additive manufacturing (AM) offers the potential to economically produce customized components with complex geometries in a shorter design-to-manufacture cycle. However, basic understanding of fatigue behavior these materials must be substantially improved at all scale levels before unique features this rapidly developing technology can used critical load bearing applications. This work aims assess strength Ti–6Al–4V smooth and circular notched samples produced by selective laser melting (SLM). Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was investigate fracture surface broken order identify crack initiation points mechanisms. Despite observed reduction induced specimens compared specimens, showed very low notch sensitivity attributed both hexagonal crystal lattice characteristics tempered alpha prime grains defects SLM process itself.
