摘要: The prognosis of lung cancer patients who are not candidates for surgery is usually poor. unfavorable natural history respiratory failure in this group has been suggested as a causative factor. We analyzed the outcome 46 consecutive with primary on whom mechanical ventilators were utilized. Although seven ultimately weaned and survived at least 24 hours, three them subsequently died prior to discharge from hospital. remaining 39 while using ventilator. Patient age, tumor cell type, etiology significantly different between unweaned populations. A difference was noted duration ventilation: none could be required ventilation more than six days (range, two days). Respiratory nonsurgical patient carries poor prognosis, selection should conservative.
