摘要: The precision and discovery potential of a neutrino factory based on muon storage rings is studied. For three-family oscillations, we analyse how to measure or severely constraint the angle 13, CP violation, MSW effects sign atmospheric mass differencem 2. We present simple ana- lytical formula for oscillation probabilities in matter, with all differences non-vanishing, which clarifies subtleties involved disentangling unknown parameters. appearance "wrong-sign muons" at three ref- erence baselines considered: 732 km, 3500 7332 km. exploit dependence signal energy, include as well realistic background estimations detection efficiencies. optimal baseline turns out be O(3000 km). Analyses combining information from different base- lines are also presented.
