摘要: Two distinct cDNAs encoding beta subunits of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing (LH) were cloned from the cDNA library constructed for pituitary red-bellied newt, Cynops pyrrhogaster, sequenced. The newt FSHbeta LHbeta encode polypeptides 129 131 amino acids, including signal peptides 20 19 respectively. number position cysteine N-glycosylation in each FSH LH, which are considered essential assembly alpha subunit, well conserved between other tetrapods. high homology (41.6%) LH imply less specificity gonadal function. One common polypeptide chain subunit was also isolated gland. mRNAs FSHbeta, LHbeta, expressed only gland among various tissues. Double-staining with situ hybridization immunohistochemistry revealed coexpression same cells. Ovariectomy induced a significant increase mRNA levels, but there no change or levels compared those control animals. Taken together, these data suggest that two kinds gonadotropins, namely gonadotropin-producing cells pars distalis as tetrapods expression is negatively regulated by ovaries.
