摘要: Identification of anaerobic bacteria requires special media and growth conditions that contribute to a higher cost per identification than for aerobic isolates. Newer rapid methods streamline the process, but confirmation species level is often difficult. The Presumpto Plate method commonly encountered anaerobes consists three quadrant plates, each containing four conventional media, result in generation 21 test parameters: on Lombard-Dowell medium; production indole, indole derivative, catalase, lecithinase, lipase; proteolysis milk, H2S, esculin; 20% bile; precipitate DNase, glucose, casein, starch, gelatin hydrolysis; fermentation lactose, mannitol, rhamnose. charts were developed by using results from 2,300 Because used, there was high degree agreement between reference when testing anaerobes. as accurate commercially available enzyme systems many less expensive perform.
