摘要: This study assessed the enhancement of immunocompetence by relaxation and social contact in 45 geriatric residents independent-living facilities. Subjects were randomly assigned to one three protocols: training, contact, or no contact. social-contact conditions seen individually times a week for month. Blood samples self-report data obtained at baseline, end intervention, 1-month follow-up. At group showed significant increase natural killer cell activity, decreases antibody titers Herpes simplex virus self-rated distress; other two groups nonsignificant changes. There was general T-lymphocyte response phytohemagglutinin stimulation with greater change lower mitogen concentrations. These suggest that cellular may be enhanced psychosocial interventions.
