摘要: BACKGROUND:: The main function of a trauma registry is to assess quality assurance and performance improvement (QA/PI) in an individual institution. Nonvalidated data may produce unreliable reports QA/PI information. This study examines the types entry errors database; effect on time variable estimates, case ascertainment statistical measurement; dynamics error occurrence; validation (DV) scheme for registry. METHODS:: Query cross-tabulation techniques were used expose variety errors. Conceptual aspect each type DV, especially with respect QA/PI, given. RESULTS:: Findings different are provided: out-of-range values; false positive negative errors; commission omission; duplication demographics; because inconsistent incongruent coding. Error rates less than 3% commonly occurring data, such as scene time, demographics, hospital discharge transportation, greater but important thoracic aorta injury (9.5%) audit filter admit Glasgow Coma Scale emergency department (55.6%). Dynamics occurrence that can prevent or minimize described. features displayed. CONCLUSIONS:: Errors database cause invalid frequencies, rates, estimates measures affect care. Every functioning should develop on-going program DV. Language: en
