摘要: Even though the hazard posed by lift-generated wakes of subsonic transport aircraft has been studied extensively for approach and departure at airports, only a small amount effort gone into potential cruise altitude. This paper reports on studio wake-vortex during because encounters may become more prevalent when free-flight becomes available each aircraft, is free to choose its own route between destinations. In order address problem, various fluid-dynamic stages that vortex usually go through as they age will be described along with estimates stage poses. It appears rolling-moment can just severe but it persists several minutes. However, downwash in wake due lift generator tens minutes long narrow region behind generating aircraft. The consists vertical loads an encountering crosses wake. A technique avoiding altitude described. To date their persistence altitudes identified subdivided tasks. Analyses encounter are underway should completed shortly. review published literature subject nearly (see text) photographs have taken decay identified. remains study sort those best illustrate after shed altitudes. present status analysis
