摘要: This is a report of the results work that has been performed to improve properties, primarily current carrying capacity, Nb3Sn conductors made by internal-tin process. The ultimate application economical cables for high field dipole and quadrupole magnets next generation particle accelerators. approach used in conductor development start with designs reported previously 1 reduce amount copper present particularly area strand close filaments. Several different local ratios niobium have employed. Efforts also determine best ratio tin ensure highest critical density. Some problems encountered trying measure properties materials capable currents are discussed.
