摘要: We investigate how a heterogeneous cellular network should self-organize by proposing load-aware user association scheme. This is an important consideration, in order to move traffic off congested cells and onto more lightly loaded cells. Although the network-wide optimal problem NP hard, closely related utility maximization can be made convex applying relaxations on metric. then address low-complexity distributed algorithm that converges near-optimal solution with theoretical guarantee its performance, requiring limited information no coordination. directly range extension small-cell biasing, which cell associations are likely work practice. Our scheme provides guidance best “biasing factor” for different tiers of base stations. Numerical results show 3.5x throughput gain cell-edge users 2x median relative standard max-SINR where mobile connects strongest station.
