摘要: Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) play a critical role in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. We evaluated MAPKs, extracellular signal-regulated (ERKs), c-Jun NH2-terminal (JNKs) p38 MAPKs kidney young old rats response to direct-acting alkylating agent, methyl methanesulfonate (MMS). It is shown that basal activity ERKs was strongly down-regulated compared their counterparts without significant difference expression ERKs. Upon treatment with MMS, were deactivated about 5-fold (P<0.05) rats, whereas they activated 4-fold (P<0.01) rats. Strikingly, JNKs not detected animals, it clearly present after MMS animals. The significantly increased as no detected. After both where activation dramatically stronger than Taken together, these results demonstrate age-specific signaling pathways rat kidney. implications age-related changes susceptibility MMS-induced carcinogenesis are discussed.
