An update and systematic review on the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.

摘要: Objectives Primary dysmenorrhea is a painful uterine contraction caused by endometrial laceration. Drug therapies and complementary medicine have been used to treat dysmenorrhea. The aim of this study was investigate offer an updated perspective on the treatments for Methods present conducted in accordance with PRISMA checklist systematic reviews meta-analyses. required information collected based searches following keywords: treatment, primary dysmenorrhea, medicinal plants, chemical drugs, herbs. Searches were performed databases Pubmed, Web Sciences, Scopus, Iran medex, SID March 2018 find literature English Persian languages subject without time limit. Results This review included 17 papers, 10 which medicine, three drug therapies, four acupuncture acupressure. largest smallest samples had 303 24 patients, respectively. Length treatment ranged from one six months measures most commonly studies visual analogue scale clinical efficacy. Reported complications gastrointestinal events, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, liver kidney disorders. Conclusion Medicinal acupressure seem suppress pain reducing level prostaglandins, mediating nitric oxide, increasing beta-endorphin levels, blocking calcium channel, enhancing circulatory flow through pathway. Further trials are confirm benefits procedures described ensure absence complications.
