摘要: In the framework of Technological Research and Development Program (TRP) European Space Agency (ESA), efforts have been under way to prepare key technologies for future small mobile vehicles be used on planetary landing missions. One these is MIDD activity (Mobile Instrument Deployment Device) which aims at producing mechanical components system concepts such vehicles. has focusing wheeled locomotion and, accordingly, development wheels suitable providing specified tractive performance surface soils one areas current work. Specifically, objectives are: devices; reliable prediction reduced gravity; rational sizing vehicles; demonstration viability a 4 kg class vehicle subsurface science Mars. present paper, results previous component work are first summarized, followed by an outline selected reference mission scenario device. Subsequently, design overall described obstacle negotiation capability. Finally, production testing status Breadboard Model device presented.
