摘要: Abstract The neuropeptides somatostatin, neurotensin and substance P were investigated in rats during after limbic seizures induced by systemic injection of kainic acid (10mg/kg, i.p.). Three hours the toxin, pronounced decreases (40–50%) somatostatin-like immunoreactivity frontal cortex, striatum, dorsal hippocampus amygdala/pyriform cortex observed. Concomitantly, neurotensin-like P-like immunoreactivities also reduced hippocampus. These early peptide levels may result from increased release subsequent inactivation peptides acute seizures. At later time intervals, 3, 10 30 days acid, initially decreased partially normalized. However, reduction striatum persisted up to days. Neurotensin-like remained cortex. On other hand, neurotensin- substantia nigra 10–30 acid. late changes suggest destruction peptidergic neurons or adaptive convulsions. Pretreatment with cysteamine (100 mg/kg, i.p.), an agent which brain somatostatin levels, had no effect on intensity convulsions, although a slightly earlier onset was especially marked content considerable chronic alterations systems caused
