Refinements for the amplification and sequencing of red algal DNA barcode and RedToL phylogenetic markers: a summary of current primers, profiles and strategies

摘要: This review provides a comprehensive summary of the PCR primers and profiles currently in use our laboratory for red algal DNA barcoding phylogenetic research. While work focuses on florideophyte taxa, many markers have been applied successfully to Bangiales, as well other lineages previously assigned Bangiophyceae sensu lato. All with their respective amplification strategies are provided, which can include full fragment, overlapping fragments what might best be called "informed fragments", i.e., fragment marker is amplified sequenced taxon those sequence data then used identify amplify remaining fragment(s) that marker. We extend this strategy more variable from external "inform" selection internal sequencing primers. will hopefully serve useful resource systematists community.
