摘要: Bridges are lifeline structures acting as an important link in surface transportation network and their collapse under seismic excitations affects social civil functionality. Historical bridge collapses earthquake actions have proved the significant role of soil structure interaction. The paper aims at evaluating protection strengthening applying isolation technique. It is based on application a Performance-Based Earthquake Engineering methodology, introduced by Pacific Research Center. study presents representative two—span with several isolated configurations affected deformability. Isolation technique contribution assessed terms costs quantities peak ground acceleration levels. can be considered first attempt to evaluate effects SSI taking into account economic performance.
