The influences of aramid fibre and its compound with ceramic on shielding performance of stuffed layer

摘要: Abstract Four kinds of aramid fibre and three compound modes with ceramic were studied by hypervelocity impact tests respectively to probe the fabric layer higher performance in space debris shield configuration. The fibres include Aramid-II manufactured America, Aramid-II, Aramid-III PBO China. Based on above test results, was chosen basalt. hybrid weaving, affixing basalt layers glue, sewing them thread. configurations are impacted 5 mm-diameter Al projectile velocities 4.5 km/s 5.0 km/s. results show that containing has equivalent shielding fabric, they better than other two stuffed under areal density. is influenced adhesion degree fibre. all improve degree, however, over makes against dissipating kinetic energy cloud, which causes degrade.
