摘要: Methamphetamine (METH) produces dopaminergic neurotoxicity by the production of reactive oxygen (ROS) and nitrogen (RNS) species. The role free radicals has also been implicated in process aging. present study was designed to evaluate whether METH-induced hyperthermia is a result peroxynitrite if these effects correlate with age. One-, sixand 12-month-old male rats (na 8) were administered single dose METH (0, 5, 10, 20, 40 mg/kg, intraperitoneally). formation 3-nitrotyrosine (3-NT) as marker well dopamine its metabolites DOPAC HVA measured striatum 4-h after METH-administration. Rectal temperature monitored every 30 min administration until 4 h. At mg/kg METH, 100% mortality animals observed, whereas no deaths occurred 1- or 6-monthold rats. An age-dependent increase observed A similar pattern dose-dependent 3-NT depletion age striatum. Furthermore, effect at 5 1-month-old animals, significant 6- animals. These data suggest that aging increases susceptibility toward generation striatal
