摘要: Objective. To determine the relative expressions of matrix metalloprotease (MMP) genes pro-MMP1 and pro-MMP3 in cartilage rabbits with experimentally induced osteoarthritis (OA), to assess role chondrocyte this process. Methods. OA was after partial medial meniscectomy. Rabbits were killed at 4 weeks or 8 weeks, total cellular RNA prepared from probed by Northern blotting pro-MMP 32P-labeled complementary DNA. Monolayer chondrocytes used MMP-inducing activity factor(s). Results. Pro-MMP messenger RNAs (mRNAs) up-regulated experimental cartilage; mRNA expression exceeded that pro-MMP1. Conditioned medium OA-derived mRNAs normal chondrocytes. Conclusion. Up-regulation MMP model may contribute degradation. Chondrocytes up-regulate via an autocrine pathway.
