摘要: The morphologic appearance and time course of regenerating rabbit corneal epithelium was studied after 6.0 mm. abrasions. immediate response to injury separation thickening basal squamous epithelial cells at near the wound margin. A variable number distribution polymorphonuclear leukocytes appeared on lamina edge 3 hours, persisting up 38 hours abrasion. Most margin were extensively flattened 15 hours. These showed a wide variety surface ruffling their free edges. This activity often associated with long fingerlike processes (filopodia) extending out lamina. method cell movement depend mainly filopodial cells. Ruffles filopodia projected ahead edge, contacted lamina, capable drawing forward into area defect. Normal re-epithelization proceeded two or three layers moving as an orderly sheet over until defect closed. no 55 returned normal 114
