Dietary and knowledge factors influencing the control of diabetes in the Mexican American diabetic

摘要: This study described the Mexican-American diabetic1s cultural food patterns and habits knowledge about dietary regimen their association with noncompliance as measured by two indices of diabetes control. A three-stage theoretical framework was based on premise that culture influences health behavior. descriptive correlational design used a convenience sample fifteen adultonset diabetic patients. Data collection questionnaire; analysis use Pearson product moment Spearman's rank correlation coefficients for relationships among variables, KruskallWallis technique to control confounding variable other treatments, t tests evaluate mean differ­ ences between diet only group medication-augmented groups all measures. Findings indicated this patient did have definite patterns. No statis­ tically significant predicted were found pattern indices, scores, indices. An evident trend in therapy positive rela­ tionship noncompliance.
