摘要: The past 25 years have seen unparalleled advances in our understanding of the molecular basis cancer. As a result, novel targets been identified that provide great potential for development new cancer diagnostics and therapies. Four key features cells distinguish them from their normal counterparts: loss cell-cycle regulation, control over invasion metastasis, failure apoptotic mechanisms, bypass senescence. This review examines senescence process immortalization during carcinogenesis. In addition, realistic opportunities telomerase challenges faced clinical trial design therapeutics are discussed.
