摘要: The cancer stem cell (CSC) hypothesis suggests that a subset of cells possesses properties and is crucial in tumor initiation, metastasis, drug resistance. To determine the mechanism CSCs breast cancer, we focused on LGR5, marker adult potentially serves as functional factor CSCs. LGR5 overexpression was detected significantly associated with recurrence poor outcome. promoted mobility, formation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition by activating Wnt/β-catenin signaling. In addition, more highly expressed tumorspheres increased stemness cells. Compared low-expression (LGR5low) cells, LGR5high exhibited CSC/tumor-initiating cell-like properties, including formation self-renewing spheres high tumorigenicity. Importantly, our studies indicate activation signaling possible to regulate renewal. These findings not only participates carcinogenesis but also maintained cancer. Stem Cells 2015;33:2913–2924
