摘要: Interest has been growing in powering data centers (at least partially) with renewable or "green" sources of energy, such as solar wind. However, it is challenging to use these because, unlike the "brown" (carbon-intensive) energy drawn from electrical grid, they are not always available. In this keynote talk, I will first discuss tradeoffs involved leveraging green today and prospects for future. then main research challenges questions managing centers. Next, describe some software hardware that researchers building explore questions. Specifically, overview systems match a center's computational workload supply. also Parasol, solar-powered micro-data center we have just built at Rutgers University. Finally, potential avenues future on topic.
