摘要: Similarities in corrosion behavior have been found static leaching experiments on natural (basaltic and rhyolitic) waste form (PNL76-68, ABS-118) glasses seawater marine sediments. Grainy but cohesive magnesium-rich surface layers both glasses. Basaltic ABS-118 exhibit especially similar comparable rates. As fresh basaltic rhyolitic are common sediments as old Miocene (~15 my) two deep-sea drilling sites, it appears that fine glass can survive for a few million years. Metal encapsulated, massive pieces could therefore millions of years if buried appropriate the submarine environment.
