摘要: Abstract Chikungunya and Mayaro viruses are Alphaviruses belonging to the Togaviridae family, which mainly transmitted by bite of Aedes aegypti (or Ae. albopictus) Haemagogus spp. mosquitoes. Currently, there no specific drugs capable treating or preventing these infectious diseases. In this sense, development researches addressed identification design new active compounds is essential, considering lack chemotherapeutic agents. Considering context, natural products represent a great alternative resource for searching identifying potential antiviral chapter, overview historical, epidemiological, structural aspects discussed, including most important targets from Alphaviruses. Besides, we report an update on medicinal chemistry virus inhibitors inspired nature inhibitors, focusing flavonoid, coumarin, terpene, lignan their derivatives. Also, deep given, flavonoid terpene classes. Moreover, alkaloid, phenolic compounds, hydrocarbon classes with larvicidal and/or repellent activity against albopictus larvae discussed in detail.
