摘要: In a refrigerated fruit store 1, the atmosphere is controlled to low levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide using an activated bed 2, by continuously repeating following cycle operations: (1) expose in 2 until saturated with CO (12 minutes); (2) evacuate down 7 kPa, gas reservoir 5, whereby O N (but not ) are released "fruit store" proportions into (2 (3) air purge it (18 (4) waste (7 kPa adequate) remove , which would otherwise remain substantially "air" (i.e. excessive oxygen) (5) put 5 at operation above, so that now contains adsorptive medium chamber atmosphere; forth indefinitely.
