摘要: This article reviews the post-Second World War literature on explanations for Australia’s immigration program. It discovers three main schools of thought based net pull factors: official explanation and two unofficial which focus migrants as workers consumers. However growing importance push factors after 1974 means that some this work is less relevant today. Explanations focusing have yet to cohere into a distinct perspective (or perspectives) but research has been done chain migration family-based strategies, asylum seekers, temporary movement, law. Immigration sometimes controversial politicized. While intellectual integrity must always take priority, values civility tolerance are also important.
