The end of the Cold War and ascendance of Globalization were catalysts that allowed transformation mercenaries into Private Security Corporations (PSCs). This lone rogue warriors legitimate corporations specializing market force would have a dramatic long lasting effect on modern warfare. PSCs, being an integral part legitimate use by sovereign states, must mechanisms place to ensure moral ethic safeguards, adherence to international law. Likewise, Global Terrorism ushered new era reliance on PSCs bridge security gaps created smaller military stretched too thin. logical stop gap solution. While they awarded lucrative contracts, little thought was given oversight actions their employees. failure the lack legislative or executive branch regulation dynamic situation has been much more reactive than proactive, "Wild West" perception government taken remedial steps correct. Reliance are moving them toward becoming permanent fixture government, thus more work needs be done area transparency, oversight, ability prosecute violations law, proper execution our foreign policy.
