摘要: The human growth hormone (hGH) gene cluster contains genes coding for hGH and chorionic somatomammotropin (hCS, also known as placental lactogen) together with related that do not code familiar hormones. Intensive molecular genetic investigation over the past 6 years has established mRNA sequences both hormones, chromosomal location regional organization of cluster, DNA all within cluster. Understanding structure explained synthesis 20K suggested possibility a new peptide to hGH. mechanisms responsible tissue-specific expression have begun be unraveled. Discovery hCS deletions in several heritable disorders clarified roles hormones physiology.
