摘要: Epizootics in wild birds have not received adequate attention, a factor which accounts for our lack of knowledge on the natural distribution some pathogens. Native appear to be an important reservoir Pasteurella multocida. Sporadic or epizootic outbreaks pasteurellosis been recorded over past 30 years. Reports published disease involve ruffed grouse Bonasa umbellus (3), California quail Lophortyx californicus (6), mallard Anas platyrhynchos (9), pintail acuta American widgeon Mareca americana (11), canvasback Aytha valisneria shoveler Spatula clypeata great blue heron Ardea herodias whistling swan Olor columbianus Canada goose Branta canadensis (8), green-winged teal carolinensis lesser scaup affinis ruddy duck Oxyura jamaicensis starling Sturnus vulgaris (1), coot Fulica (10), robin Turdus migratorius (2), common grackle Quiscalus quiscula snow Chen hyperborea (12), ring-necked pheasant Phasianus colchicus marsh hawk Circus cyaneus and short-eared owl Asio flammeus (12). This report describes 13 naturally occurring cases infection identified Massachusetts avifauna during 21/2-year survey (March 9, 1964, September 8, 1966).
