摘要: The global volume of surgery is estimated at 312.9 million operations annually, but rates vary dramatically. Identifying surgical associated with improved health outcomes would be useful for benchmarking and targeted system strengthening. We identified a life expectancy (LE) 74–75 years, maternal mortality ratio (MMR) less than or equal to 100 per 100,000 live births, the need in seven burden disease (GBD) super-regions based on prevalence conditions. compared our findings from Chile, China, Costa Rica, Cuba (“4C”), countries moderate resources high outcomes. median LE 74–75 years (N = 17) MMR below (N = 109) are 4392 (IQR 2897–4873) 5028 4139–6778) people respectively. mean rate was 4723 (95 % CI 3967–5478) annually. “4C” had 4344 2620–6068) Thirteen twenty-one GBD regions, accounting 78 % world’s population, do not achieve lowest end this range. narrow range important indicators. This target can used services, as part policy aimed strengthening care systems capacity.
