摘要: Weld repair is used widely in many industrial applications. Knowledge of the through thickness residual stress distribution particular importance for accurate assessment structural integrity repaired components. However, and magnitude after weld not well characterised. In this paper, results from a programme measurements on butt-welded stainless steel pipe, with 35mm wall an outside diameter 432 mm arc presented. Measurements in-plane components were obtained using novel deep-hole technique. This technique relies distortion reference hole drilled component. Residual stresses measured heat affected zone (haz) butt-weld, prior to introduction repairs different depths. it shown that significantly changed original as-welded stress-state. Finite element (fc) simulations girth deep are described. The show good agreement predictions both repair.
