摘要: Abstract Clostridium difficile infection is a common and potentially lethal complication of antibiotic usage. Since the aetiology antibiotic-associated colitis was discovered 14 years ago, two antibiotics in particular, metronidazole vancomycin, have been used to treat C. infection. Studies comparing efficacy these are reviewed. It now apparent that many so-called ‘relapses' following treatment are, fact, re-infections. Such findings major control implications.
