摘要: Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are a family of growth factors, some which known by the name and differentiation factor (GDF). BMPs were discovered in 1960s an attempt to find factors capable inducing bone formation. By end 1980s, several different had been found date, around 20 members known. Together with TGFβ, nodal, activins, they comprise TGFβ superfamily. regulate cell fate both development adult tissues, as such also involved many disease states. Understanding impact these processes requires intimate knowledge regulation BMP signaling pathway. The intracellular pathway has studied extensively but various transcription (TFs) necessary for BMP-mediated gene expression changes have remained under less scrutiny. Most studies focused on specific TFs context or development. Varying types used, no large-scale yet performed. Here we aim summarize current pathway-related TFs, focusing those canonical through SMAD proteins.
