摘要: Despite renewed media attention on the wedding, and emphasis that this pays to bridal performance, feminist analysis of wedding culture has made few inroads. Accounts are needed understand women's experience day, narrative becoming bride, way takes place against a backdrop postfeminist ambivalence, where traditional practices re-fashioned through discourses (consumer) choice empowerment. In article, we draw qualitative data collected with five married women from Netherlands, who spoke us about their day being/becoming brides. We show how retraditionalisation shapes new romaticisation storytelling, constructed transformation beauty. analysing these narratives, perfection comes anchor subjective affective power ‘the wedding’ in contemporary culture.
