摘要: It is well known that, across all populations (based on geographic location, race, ethnicity, age, and sex), coronary artery disease (CAD) the single most common cause of death. The commonly performed revascularization procedures for treatment symptomatic CAD are percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTCA) by itself or followed deployment either a bare-metal stent (BMS) drug-eluting (DES). In latter type, drug that embedded in polymeric nonpolymeric coating(s) surface directly attached to elutes into blood stream at controlled rate over period time, typically 14-30 days. Over years, there has been steady decline use PTCA concomitant sharp increase stents, with DESs being predominant choice last 3 years. present contribution represents critical review literature materials, fluid dynamics, solid mechanics aspects both BMSs DESs, special reference in-stent restenosis thrombosis, these risks commonly.
