摘要: Use of cutting fluids in machining processes can reduce the temperature and provides lubrication to tool workpiece. These translate longer life improved surface quality. Due issues using related environment, health, manufacturing cost that need be solved, options their use. A technique called minimal quantity (MQL), which sprays small amount fluid (in range approximately 10 – 100 ml/h) zone area with aid compressed air, was developed merge advantages both dry flood cooling. For type fluids, vegetable oils are common used MQL because its superior high-pressure performance. This study evaluates performance castor oil as fluid. The workpiece is hardened stainless steel 48 HRC. Results compared cutting. It found lubricant 50 ml/h during particular turning process produces better results cutting, terms life. Surface roughness forces were also enhanced albeit slightly. From results, a good for coated carbide tools parameters up 170 m/min speed 0.24 mm/rev feed.
